c# - WCF channel faulted mode -


i want know behavior of wcf service's faulted mode.

suppose server service hosted down , channel using connect service in faulted mode?

following observations:

  • service , running , service calls successful.
  • now server down, channel shows opened , call service times out , dispose channel
  • for next service call, create new channel have disposed in last call.

question : expected scenario or channel should show in faulted state first call.

please guide.

by design of tcp not possible see if server or client loses conectivity. have make call see that. (the non normal way send empty tcp package not supported operation systems.)

you can see faster if calls regualry special nop (no operation) function.

if call fails because of connection timeout (which happens everytime if other side offline) channel gets faulted.
