SQL Server 2008 native SQL password recovery -


i have situation need determine password of database user in sql server 2008 (not r2, regular 2008). native sql server account, , has no password restrictions / policies assigned it. have full sysadmin access on sql server already; under normal circumstances reset password user (it not sa user) known value, account used variety of processes is, , cannot changed; unfortunately, existing password not documented anywhere, , nobody knows is.

i have found number of different ways in sql server 2000 , sql server 2005, none of them appear work in sql server 2008. note, user indeed active, , in fact credentials saved in sql server management studio, can log in sql server user password need obtain -- so, know account good. need find out password is! :p

i'm afraid official position reset password, know don't want do. beyond believe you're stuck trying out 3rd party applications claim have ability, none guarantee success. of course, passwords supposed hard discover...
