we in need of solution allow access laptop tethered cell phone via internet.

most vnc type solution not allow due fact cell phone acts router , there no ip address can access , cell phone not allow port forwarding.

is aware of remote desktop application on client side can activated via web browser , via web browser control remote machine. need able complete brand web side want integrate solution our custom site.

if has direction go in appreciate.

a vpn (virtual private network) configuration resolve this.

laptop tcp connection vpn host via tether connection. vpn assigns ip address virtual network adapter (provided vpn client) in laptop . machine on vpn (or bridged vpn network) can access other machine on vpn. there no port blocking because network connection carried through tunnel.

configuration of vpn intensive. minimal configuration hardcode vpn ip addresses @ host , clients. clients able reach each other ip. allow vnc work , in theory other connections such ftp or windows networking (although depending on link speed).

i believe there microsoft solution vpn. if recall correctly vpn client built-in windows xp. never used solution, assume server-side built-in windows 2003 , later.

edit: vpn server need on static ip (maybe dynamic dns service if dynamic ip) , reachable internet either directly or via port forwarding. don't know if there service offerings providing vpn. depending on needs , budget solutions varied.
