visual studio - IDE for Windows Driver Development -


i planning write windows(xp, vista , 7) virtual printer driver using c/c++. wanted know best ide out there can use this. have read windows driver kit 8(wdk-8) more integrated new visual studio 2012 drivers windows xp not supported wdk-8. hoping if suggest me version work out best me.

since visual studio pretty expensive, don't want buy unless has advantages on using eclipse in case.

also, if need use visual studio, version of visual studio suffice single developer me: professional, premium or ultimate ?

before vs 2012, visual studio has no advantages eclipse. driver built in command line mode, , use windbg debugger, vs editor.

in vs 2012, build template wdf driver, easy create driver template. don't think reason expensive vs.
