How can I convert sound files into a different format using php on a windows server? -


my server admin says on shared windows server, 'exec()' cannot used. use exec() function run sox cmd commands. alternative? funny sox installed, how use without exec()? want implement when user uploads .mp3 file, converted .wav on server itself.

if need cpu intensive stuff audio re-encoding, suggest move off shared hosting, onto vps.
