c++ - what is a stream? And std things and their usage. -


i see people using term stream never means. , standard mean? mean input terminal , output terminal? how stderr? when need use , effect has?

second, can create our own stream? , why need create it?

in type theory, stream infinite list of data.

however, in c or c++ thought of either infinite source or infinite sink. of course, infinite lie of times, useful abstraction underlines size unknown.

i think terms source , sink more useful. can think of stderr sink characters. point of view of program, consumes characters without apparent effect after all.

you can of course create streams (either sources or sinks or both @ same time).
