Pasting images from clipboard in Firefox suddenly enabled (tinymce) -


i'm using tinymce richtext editing in webmail client. suddenly, after years , years of begging build this, customers able paste images directly clipboard in tiny. while try achieve smart google, logged in gmail account , started pasting away.. yep, paste worked in gmail and, yep, images broken in sent e-mail.

here shortened part of html, generated firefox after pasting screenshot textarea:

i have say, i'm excited new feature, cannot seem find (literally!) topic, suggestions when added firefox, or how make work in e-mail clients appreciated!

this bit old, added firefox since version 4, , thunderbird (sort-of) since version 6 (it seems read them since version 3).

in case of thunderbird, if thunderbird support data uris, other email clients may not, thunderbird convert them classic mime attachments (with cids url).

in case of gmail, of today (march 2013), pasted image data included data uris, while drag-and-droped images (at least in linux, gnome, nautilus firefox) include them common mime attachments. so, if send email data uri image, email clients display correctly, not. (ironic thing, gmail cannot display them, @ least not firefox , chrome).

btw, in thunderbird @ least, data uri don't have full information image, if try save need provide name or use "image.jpeg" generic name.
