Xcode Search Navigator _really_ slow, but only in a particular project -


one of projects seems impossible search through in xcode 4.3.2 on lion lately. using search navigator find in project locks whole computer, beach ball, 30 seconds or more.

i've tried deleting project.xcworkspace file (which small anyway), , didn't fix it. i've tried clicking on xcode activity viewer, locked up, can't see helpful.

with activity monitor application, can see cpu spike when search starts, , comes down normal, , xcode hangs (appears not responding) until times out or something.

other projects fine. search proceeds normally. , started in last few weeks.

what i'm worried hard drive problem, seems localized, , disk utility thinks drive fine.

i guess can try making copy of project , searching copy.

has seen before?!

rebuilding code sense index didn't work either.

i did solve problem though. problem single file in project - seemed corrupt or damaged in way. couldn't copied (which how discovered culprit). couldn't 'quick looked' or examined.

all had delete damaged file, , revert source control. , problem solved.

now, how did damaged? have no idea.
